Fast as a Powermac G5 Dual 2ghz running Final Cut Pro!!!!
This is a really powerful PORTABLE Mac!! Dont expect to leave it in your lap for long periods of time because the heat will buildup. Apple calls this machine a portable not a laptop.
HOW HOT does this machine run? I usually run the MacBook in Better Battery Life mode and the screen brightness is turned down cause it is to bright otherwise. Temperature is lower the first 1/2 hour you run the machine.
First 1/2 hour 50’s C
After first 30 minutes 60-64C on a table. The key to heat on this machine is what you set the MacBook on. A cooling stand is going to give you the longest life out of this machine.
Full load running a processor intense program running at 2ghz Up to 89C(usually in 70’sC) and the fan will kick in between 79-89C and bring the temp. back down to the mid 60’sC.
DIFFERENT FEEL then the previous Powerbooks. The metal clicker soft feel of the previous Powerbooks is a little more stiff of a feel. The keypad feels like the keys have more space in between them. The keypad keys have a soft feel.
Fingerprints Bad? I just take a damp cloth with water and wipe the machine down and it looks as good as new!!
BATTERY LIFE is giving me around 3 to 4 hours but I have Bluetooth turned off, Screen brightness is turned down but is still much brighter then my 12” Powerbook was, and I run in Better Battery Life mode in the Energy Saver control panel.
SOUND-- This is the only thing I would change on the MacBook. The sound is lower then the sound on my Powerbook and needs better Bass. I had to go into Itunes and turn up the Preamp in the Equalizer section.
I have had no problems with the “moo” sound or anything else to speak of being a problem.
MEMORY If you only have 512mb you will be disappointed running Rosetta Apps. I have 2gigs of Ram and run Photoshop CS with no problems. Actually runs faster then my Powerbook 12” 1ghz w 1.25gig of Ram.
SCREEN-- Extremely bright screen so much so that I turn the brightness down to about half!
You can use this machine in the SUN!!! So cool that you can see very well in sunlight.
SCREEN REFLECTION is a non issue!
SCREEN COLOR INTEGRITY is very good but due to the glossy finish shows colors to be more saturated then the previous Powerbooks
AIPORT CARD is more sensitive the the ones installed in the Previous Powerbooks. Much more sensitive!! There is an issue with the MacBook dropping Networks ,but I think this is an issue with the OS and maybe an Airport update. If you are using QWEST you might have to plug in DNS numbers to correct a lagging issue.
CONCLUSION Buy this machine cause it is much improved over previous Macs!! No crashing issues or major problems of any sort. Different machine then previous Macs. The polycarbonate casing gives the machine a different feel. BAD no DIFFERENT. Imagine a machine running 5x faster then your current Powerbook! On a scale of 1-10 I have to rate this machine a 9.49!
Apple has made improvements to this machine where there were problems with previous Powerbooks. The problems listed on Websites are blown out of proportion in my opinion. Some of the minor issues like dropping networks I believe is a function of OS 10.4.6 and will be corrected in 10.4.7. Remember Apple has switched processors and this transition has been almost seamless.
My hat off to Apple for making a near perfect machine!

Màn hình: sáng đẹp màng hình gương mừ, nhưng góc nhìn không rộng bàng màn hình gương khác (đã xo sánh với dell 700m, xo với sony thì chắc khỏi)
card màn hình: ai cũng chê là share, nhưng em dùng cảm thấy đủ hay tại em kô dùng những soft đồ hoạ Pro!?!? Trên Win nhận 128m card man2 hình chơi game tốt hihhihi.
DVD+-r/w: Ổ slim tiện đẹp pro, kô kén điã.
Pin: chạy wá ok gần 4h, em thấy hãng nào cũng bảo pin chạy 4h nhưng thực tế không đến, còn em này chạy đúng đó.
Về độ ồn công nhận chạy wá êm.
Tội to nhất máy wá nóng, các bác có thói wen để máy trên đuồi cần coi chừng hihihi.
Về kiểu dáng thì không cần nói , bàn phím tuyệt, nếu có thêm cảm ứng như macpro thì khỏi có gì phàn nàn tối tắt đèn bàn phím sáng lên hihihi.
Còn nửa cổng headphone là cổng quang wá tuyệt.
